A pharmaceutical and medical education professional, Craig Gelband has held the position of senior medical director at Ogilvy CommonHealth Medical Education since 2007. A graduate of Duke University, Craig Gelband remains active with the school through his involvement with the Duke Alumni Association (DAA).
In addition to keeping alumni connected with their alma mater, the DAA provides its members with a number of opportunities to give back to their own communities. Duke Alums Engage, a major program of the DAA, brings members together to complete a range of local service projects in cities throughout the United States. A flexible program, Duke Alums Engage allows participants to choose a project that is tailored to the specific needs of their community. Projects can be a one-time activity or a sustainable initiative that continues over an extended period. Recently, Duke alumni from Rhode Island to California participated in Duke Alums Engage Week, which took place April 25th to May 4th. During this year’s event, alumni in over 40 cities gave back to their communities in a variety of ways, including volunteering at schools and food banks, raising money for medical research, and cleaning run-down neighborhoods.
